Getting to the airport on Thursday, Jan 3, 2013: We had everything shut off, closed up, turned off with doors locked (our neighbor Charlotte was there to confirm the front door was locked!!) and, outside waiting for pick-up by 2:45pm. Pick-up was scheduled for 3pm.
Tom waiting with our 3 bags. Our big bags were shipped last week and are already in Auckland! We'll check the one small bag and take the other 2 onboard. The small bag contains items we couldn't ship and couldn't take on board… And, as of now, it is checked and on its way to Auckland.

We walked around the airport lobby to see what was new… Tampa is a fun airport to walk off a couple of drinks and dinner! We followed that with an elevator ride up to the top of the Marriott for a nightcap of hot chocolate and Bailey's Irish Cream, of course, topped with whipped cream! There is a beautiful view of the runways from up there!
It had been a long day, we were ready for bed by 8:30pm… which meant we were ready to get up at 4:30am today! We were out of our room around 5. Checked our 1 bag, got thru security and were having breakfast by 5:45. Yep, it was another 2 hours before boarding time but it was nice to have the "hardest" part behind us!
At this point, we waiting in the boarding lounge listening to calls for boarding of other flights… ALL are going out FULL! United is offering coupons for giving up seats. We checked our flight and, it too is full! Glad we made our reservations back in July (2012)!
We are now about 30 minutes away from boarding… weather looks good so we should be in Washington on time! That's it for now!
