After our tour of the Thermal area we headed off to lunch. The only way to our designated place for lunch was an air gondola away.
Tom enjoys the view on the way to the top and lunch.
A look back down to the lake below. Just to the left of center, you can see the building from which the gondolas departed.
A man out on one of the stanchions working on the cables. We just hoped they wouldn't break before we got back down!
It was a beautiful view from up there, however, they tried to feed 700 people from a buffet and room intended for 300!
From Skyline, we headed to Rainbow Springs. Once everyone was back on the bus, we drove less than a city block to Rainbow Springs, parked and were off the bus again!
We walked through the kiwi house to get to the springs but because kiwi are nocturnal birds, no pictures were allowed. We did actually see two of the three kiwi they had.
When we spied this "rainbow" trout, and there were lots of them, we knew from whence the name "Rainbow Springs" came.
One of several indigineous lizards they had there. This guy was maybe 14-15" long. Were he framed to be huge, he would have been quite intimidating.
After the mandatory trip through the gift shop, we boarded the buses and headed back to the ship!
