Happiness is sitting on the balcony, listening to the sound of the water and catching up on our blog! The salt air on an open ocean is so refreshing!
We were two days in Melbourne. Having spent several days in Melbourne back in 2010, we did not feel compelled to try to take in everything we could. Relaxing was more important!
Day 1, we stayed on the boat. In the evening, there was a BBQ on the pool deck. The weather was beautiful, the winds had calmed… everyone was enjoying the evening:
Crew is getting everything set up. Wish I could interpret the flags, wonder if they spell out something whimsical, diabolical or were just the alphabet!
Of course, our first stop was the pool bar! We are totally taking advantage of Johnny Walker Black being one of the included drinks! Regent doesn't even carry the scotch we drink at home (Lauders) or at our local club (Cluny)! And, yes, for our Chivas loving friends, that too is included, well, unless you want Chivas 18-yo!
On board chefs have to be the best and most creative artists in the world! Give them some food and they can make art out of it! We particularly liked this dragon with papaya head, sliced roast beef body, watermelon wings, etc. They have so many different fruits and vegetables on board, I'm often hard pressed to have a clue what they are!
Even tho' the winds had diminished, the temperature and the breezes soon had the ice sculptures dripping! I think this one may have started out as a unicorn!
Early in the days before we started the trip and after we had paid all the bills, I thought our poor piggy (bank) was in bad shape (see the Pre-Trip page) until I saw this poor guy! This one looks like he's been devoured by Washington politicos!
A whole array of wines and champagnes to suit every taste! Next to this display were silver tubs of ice with the whites and the champagnes.
New friends, Pete & Peggy, two of our favorite "playmates", did not want their pictures taken! OK, so you cannot see who they are!!
The Regent Signature Orchestra cranked up the music for our dining pleasure and later for dancing under the stars. We passed on the dancing...
…and, headed down to our favorite lounge, the Voyager Lounge, for a nightcap. There we found Amit, our Butler, talking with Lilia, our favorite bartender!
We turned in early as we had planned an all day tour for the next day.

Tom's quip for today when he saw an item on the daily schedule:
Canyon Ranch seminar "Moroccan Oil" changed my life. He responded "The guy probably bought futures at $10/barrel and sold them at $100!"
