Auckland: Embarkation Day

Bags outside our hotel room door waiting to be picked up!  We had shipped our big bags so only had to deal with our carry-ons.


At last, 6 days after leaving home, we are boarding the ship!
Arriving in our "home" for the next 66 days, we find a bottle of champagne and some nibbles.

Tom begins the task of unpacking.
The shipped bags were delivered shortly after we got to our room… HALLELUJAH!!

Mustered for the obligatory life boat drill!  In reality, in the event of an emergency, we would grab a bottle of scotch and head to the highest point on the ship!

And thus begins our "Slow Boat to China"!
